Research   Experience

Sep 21 – Present

HO CHI MINH UNIVERSITY OF SCIENCE – Synthesis Thin Films And Nanomaterial Laboratory (Faculty of MST)

Master Student – Senior Lab Assistant in Assoc. Prof. Pham Kim Ngoc’s research group

o    Studying, researching, and fabricating memristor devices based on translational metal, metal-organic framework, and halide perovskite film manufacturing techniques via Physical Vapor Deposition.

o    Successfully fabricated 250 µm translational memristor cells using a shadow mask by magnetron DC (reactive) sputtering.

o    Exploring and developing a mathematical memristor model for circuit design, specifically LT-Spice simulations.

o    Acquired hands-on experience in operating, troubleshooting, and maintaining high vacuum systems, including thermal evaporation, magnetron sputtering, and accompanying plasma discharge systems.

Got familiar with handling and operating electronic characterization systems such as Keithley 4200 SCS-300, Keithley 2400 SMU and UV–Vis Jasco 730. Able to operate various material characterization systems such as X-ray diffraction, Atomic Force Microscope, FTIR, and Raman spectroscopy.

Aug 22 – Sep 22

HANOI UNIVERSITY OF SCIENCE – Center for Nano and Energy

Visiting Researcher – Research member in Assoc. Prof. Nguyen Tran Thuat’s research group

Studied and practiced UV photolithography technique for applications in fabricating the fabrication of high-density memristors (RRAM).

Mar 21 - Aug 21

HO CHI MINH UNIVERSITY OF SCIENCE – Synthesis Thin Films and Nanomaterial Laboratory (Faculty of MST)

Senior Lab Student – Research member in Assoc. Prof. Pham Kim Ngoc’s research group

o    Overhauling the magnetron DC sputtering system: vacuum pumps, automatic control, and upgrading the DC source.

o    Executed the deposition of ultra-thin films stacked of metal and metal oxide for low-emission smart windows (low-E glass).

Simulated UV–Vis spectroscopy of deposited multilayers using Essential Macleod.

Aug 19 - Mar 21

HO CHI MINH UNIVERSITY OF SCIENCE – Green and Renewable Energy Group (Faculty of MST).

Junior Lab Student – Research member in Assoc. Prof. Tran Duy Tap’s research group

Studied the microstructure of proton exchange membranes in a fuel cell application (PEM-ETFE) by Positron Annihilation Lifetime Spectroscopy and XRD results by mathematical model fitting, LT-10, and PAScual software.

Teaching   Experience

Dec 21 – Present

HO CHI MINH UNIVERSITY OF SCIENCE

Teaching Assistant – Faculty of Materials Science and Technology

HO CHI MINH UNIVERSITY OF SCIENCE

Teaching Assistant – Faculty of Materials Science and Technology

Assisted the Professors in teaching 3rd year and final-year students various subjects: Advanced practical course, Practical course in fabricating and characterizing materials, and final year thesis.

Managed and instructed junior and senior students in the laboratory throughout the process of preparing samples and fabricating thin-film materials by DC sputtering and thermal evaporation methods.

Helped assist and guide final-year students in material science and biotechnology faculty in their final-year thesis with practical skills in designing, fabricating, and characterizing materials using various professional instruments.
